I Don’t Want to Be Average — On the Lot or in Life

Noah Nelms's Blog | I Don’t Want to Be Average — On the Lot or in Life

If there’s one thing wrestling taught me, it’s that “average” never gets remembered.

In wrestling, you could have all the moves in the world — but if you didn’t bring energy, creativity, and heart, the crowd would forget you the second you walked through the curtain.
I carried that same mindset with me when I stepped into the world of car sales.

Because let’s be honest — there are a lot of car salesmen out there.
But I never wanted to be just another guy on the lot.

The Same Drive, Different Stage

When I was wrestling, I’d push my body to its limits for one reason: I wanted to stand out. I wanted people to feel something when they watched me perform.

Now, my stage looks a little different — it’s a car lot instead of a wrestling ring — but the purpose hasn’t changed.
Every day, I show up with that same “prove myself” energy.
I want every person I work with to walk away saying, “That was different — that was actually fun.”

It’s Not About Selling, It’s About Showing Up

Being great in sales isn’t just about knowing cars or closing deals — it’s about how you make people feel.
It’s about the energy you bring when someone’s nervous about a big purchase.
It’s about being the person who listens, helps, and makes the process easy.

I’ve had days where I missed goals or deals fell through — but those are just like taking a loss in the ring. You don’t quit; you regroup, learn, and come back swinging.

Chasing Something Bigger

My goal isn’t just to make a living.
It’s to build something that lasts — a name, a brand, a legacy that my family can be proud of.
I don’t want to be known as the guy who used to wrestle.
I want to be known as the guy who never stopped chasing greatness, no matter what stage of life he was on.

So Why Buy from Me?

Because I care about the experience.
I care about you walking away smiling, knowing you were taken care of.
Because every handshake, every test drive, every deal — it’s another moment where I get to prove that I’m not average, and that your experience doesn’t have to be, either.

I may have traded in the wrestling boots for dress shoes,
but the fight to be great never went away.

I’m still stepping into the ring — it just looks a little different now.
