Every now and then, someone walks onto the lot, looks at me for a second, squints, and says,
“Wait a minute… you look really familiar.”
And then it clicks.
Before I got into car sales, I spent a few years living out my dream as a professional wrestler — traveling, performing, and getting to do some pretty wild stuff on national TV with AEW. So yeah, sometimes people recognize me from those days.
When they do, it’s always a fun moment. I’ve had people pull up old clips on their phones, show me pictures they took with me years ago, or talk about their favorite matches. A few even ask questions about what life was like behind the scenes — like, “Is everyone really friends backstage?” or “How many times did you get hit with a chair?”
And occasionally, yeah… someone will laugh and say, “So if I let you body slam me, do I get a discount?”
(No, I promise there are no wrestling moves performed on the lot — I’m retired from that side of things. 😂)
What’s cool is how it instantly breaks the ice. Buying a car can be a big, nerve-wracking decision for a lot of people. But when someone recognizes me and we start talking about wrestling stories, the tension melts away. We’re just two people talking, laughing, and connecting over something fun before getting down to business.
And honestly, that’s been one of the most unexpected blessings of this new chapter of my life. Wrestling was all about connecting with people — getting a reaction, making someone smile, giving them something to remember. I never thought I’d get to keep doing that in a totally different career, but here we are.
Now, instead of stepping into a ring, I’m stepping onto the lot each day — still meeting people, still sharing stories, and still finding ways to make folks walk away happy.
No body slams necessary. 😉
